Don’t throw away that empty toner cartridge. Don’t simply send
that cartridge back to the manufacturer for their recycling and get
nothing in return. Recycling empty toner cartridges through our
recycling program can now provide your non-profit organization with a
new source of funds. With this new recycling program developed with DCS,
our laser toner vendor, recycling empty toner cartridges can now either
provide a donation to a non-profit organization or provide a credit for
your next toner purchase.
Why is Recycling Important?
Recycling the empty toner cartridges eliminates toner cartridges from
landfills and saves resources by recycling and reuse. At the same time,
this environmentally and socially responsible act of recycling can help
a non-profit organization or reduce the costs for future toner
purchases.
How does this recycling program work?
The key to the program is simplicity. Package five or more empty
toner cartridges, attach the prepaid shipping label provided by DCS to
the package, and ship via UPS. Based on the option selected, when the
empty toner cartridges are received, either a credit will be provided to
the buyer’s account or a donation will be made to the selected
non-profit organization.
Please note that the recycling credit amount for each cartridge
varies. The price for the empty cartridge in large part depends on the
demand for the cartridge. Prices for the empty cartridges are updated
monthly. It is important to note that empty toner cartridges returned
for donations/credit must be in good condition. Broken or otherwise
damaged cartridges cannot be accepted for credit in the program
Getting the most of the recycling program
If your non-profit organization is participating in the toner
program, the recycling program truly completes the circle. As a
participant in the toner program, you receive a donation of 5% of the
toner expense when you or a supporting organization purchase toner and
now you can receive an additional donation when the toner cartridge is
empty. Since toner cartridges are continuously used in business, the
recycling program can develop into an on-going revenue stream for your
organization.
With the recycling program, as well as with the toner program, the
key to success is to have many organizations take part in the program to
your organization’s benefit. To get started, your non-profit should
contact organizations that are already taking part in the toner program
and have them save and return the empty cartridges. It is also desirable
to contact other organizations about supporting your recycling program.
Organizations such as law firms, accounting firms, financial
organizations, and other businesses can be very beneficial, as they are
large toner users.
